Since Adele had left the villa, the disorder in that house and the neglect were visible everywhere and one could not fail to notice it. "As good hosts, we should start rolling up our sleeves," Laura commented, looking around. Both approached the kitchen and Laura asked almost in a low voice: "Is this what happened?" The question remained suspended in the silence of the room and stopped Adele in the doorway. She took a few steps back in silence, Laura realized that her sister's face had turned pale.

"I had an idea," Laura proposed reluctantly. "I like this kitchen very much, but if you are fine, we can contact a furniture maker who makes custom kitchens and picks up the used items. There is no shortage of money and you will see that this environment will change its appearance and it will be easier for you to enter."

Adele hugged her sister, grateful for her delicacy and immediate understanding and thanked her. "Thanks, you immediately understood my feelings, I am very happy to have you as a sister."

Laura's eyes shone, she perfectly understood Adele's difficulty in living daily side by side with the memories of a ferocious murder and of a pain that had remained imprinted inside her and she was happy if she could help her heal her inner wound. He regained his security and continued to plan the new project. “Well, I already have in mind who is right for us. Tomorrow we call him for an inspection and a quote." Satisfied and reinvigorated by this good idea, she could not wait for tomorrow.

In fact, everything went wonderfully: the furniture maker came the next day to view the kitchen to be withdrawn in exchange, took the measurements and drew up a quote which, although approximate, was very tempting. The existing kitchen was of value, in pure briar and moreover, it seemed new. The evaluation was reasonable and the difference was minimal. The sisters decided, on the basis of the illustrative catalogue, to proceed with the purchase and choosing a kitchen with the same layout, but of different colour and material. The furniture maker assured that the old kitchen would be dismantled and the new one fitted by the evening of the next day.
